When it comes to telling stories in the world of luxury, Montblanc is the brand which is synonymous with re-writing history. This year, Montblanc takes its storytelling reputation to new heights presenting a history-making new timepiece, the METAMORPHOSIS.

On Saturday November 6th, over 2000 special guests, including Nicholas Cage, and international and domestic celebrities, all gathered in Beijing at D-Park, to become part of a night of transformation, in more ways that just one. The evening started in an atmosphere of change with the central arena at D-Park being transformed into an arena of pure magic, motion and music.
The new face of watchmaking
The evening’s highlight was the unveiling of the Metamorphosis, a watch that literally transforms itself from one face to the other in a way that no watch has ever done before. Lutz Bethge, CEO of Montblanc International and Demetrio Cabiddu, Director of the Montblanc Villeret took the stage to introduce the unique Montblanc Metamorphosis timepiece, the new face of watchmaking.

One watch - two faces: the Montblanc Metamorphosis
Seldom has the industry witnessed a creation of such mind-boggling originality, a work of such complex genius it has to be seen to be believed. The watch’s process of transformation is a highly complex one, involving 50 individual components that move technically synchronously. The Metamorphosis is based on the Montblanc chronograph calibre MB M 16.29 and derives its name from its unique dual functions and faces: By moving a slide down or up, the Metamorphosis changes from simple time indication to a chronograph and vice versa. The Metamorphosis is the first development of the Montblanc Villeret, founded by Montblanc as a dedication to safeguarding traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The spectacular launch event was attended by a glittering array of celebrity guests, who were dazzled by the exciting installations and the spectacular splendor of the new timepiece. The guests included Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Nicholas Cage, plus China leading actor & director Jiang Wen, together with super star Sun Hong Lei & Zhao Wei, Korean actor Ji Jin Hee & Lee Da Hae, China Taiwan actor Chen Qiao En and Charile Young amongst others.
With the Metamorphosis itself finally unveiled, the evening did not end there: the audience was then treated to an absolute first in China, with the appearance of one of the USA’s current hottest entertainment troupes, the ubiquitous Blue Man Group.
